It Starts With One

Our 2017 Faith Promise emphasis is "It Starts With One".

We believe that for every disciple of Jesus there is one prayer, one person and one mission.

Sunday, September 24

Today we focus on One Prayer.  Taken from 2 Thessalonians 3:1, we are praying for people to be open to the Gospel, that it would spread quickly and that it will be honored.

In the evening, we'll be making decorations for the residents of Brookstone Estates.  Several of our members live there, and this is a chance for you and your family to create something for them:  Kids and adults working together.  It’s a great chance to spend some time with our church family and bring some joy to others as well.

Saturday, September 30

One Day Serve!  Last year we headed to Indianapolis to work with FAME.  This year, we’re heading to Oblong and we’ll be working with the Children’s home.  We want you to bring your kids along.  Any kids 5th grade and under will need to be accompanied by a parent.  We’ll be leaving at 8:00 am and returning by 7:30 pm.  There is no cost for the trip, but you will need to pack a lunch and bring money for Monical’s Pizza on the way home.

Sunday, October 1

Today our focus will be on One Person.  That one person God brings us to or brings to us, that we should share the gospel with.  Disciples are made one-on-one.

That evening, once again, we are partnering with Lifeline Christian Mission to pack meals.  The plan is to pack 14,000 meals in under an hour.  Last year, from the kids on up, this was one of the highlights of Faith Promise.  Again, this is chance for all ages to work together and accomplish something amazing for the Kingdom.

Sunday, October 8

This is Faith Promise Sunday.  This is the day that we "fund" the One Mission that God has given the church.

We’re asking you to begin praying now and asking God what He wants to give through you.  Faith promise is not about how much you can scrape together out of your monthly budget.  It’s about trusting God to do what He says He will do.  Faith Promise is seeking God’s answer to how much you He wants to give to missions though you, and, in faith, trusting that He will supply.  We’ll be giving you an opportunity, in both services, to tell us what God has told you by filling out a Faith Promise card.  Remember, this is not a “pledge” that you will be “required” to fulfill.  It is a promise that as God provides, you will be faithful to give it to complete the mission that God gave the church.

That evening, we’ll wrap up Faith Promise with a celebration service.  We’ll announce the total for Faith Promise and we’ll celebrate what God has done.  The evening will include worship, special music, the FCC kids, scripture and much more.
