FCC Fairfield is 150 years old!

On September 17, 2017, we are planning a celebration service here at the church, a “homecoming” if you will.  We are inviting members who have moved away, family that isn't in the area any longer, kids that grew up in FCC, as well as former staff members, timothies, and our missionaries to join us for that day.

150 years ago, in 1867, a small group of individuals established a permanent church in Fairfield.  Their vision for a Christian Church in Fairfield grew into what we know today as First Christian Church.  It is their faithfulness and the faithfulness of hundreds, if not thousands of others that we are celebrating this year.

But it is not only their faithfulness that we are celebrating.  It is ours as well as we look to the future to where God will lead so that in another 150 years.  If Jesus waits that long, the Kingdom will still be advancing through the blessing of God and the efforts of the people of First Christian Church in Fairfield Illinois.  Not only in Fairfield, but around the world as well.

9:00 AM

Though we usually have two services on Sunday Morning,  but we are planning a single worship service this morning to celebrate not only what God has done, but where He is leading us in the future.  Not only will we worship together, meet around the Lord's Table and study God's Word, we've got some fun surprises planned as well.

12:00 noon

Following the service, we're planning a picnic on the church grounds.  There will be plenty of good food, clean fun and great fellowship.  We've got some games planned for the young and the young at heart.  All you need is a lawn chair so you have a place to sit down and enjoy catching up with friends both old and new.

6:00pm

To close out the celebration, and so we can all laugh - a lot, we've got a great night planned.  Christian Comedian Dennis Swanberg will be here!  "The Swan" is considered by many as "America's Minister of Encouragement." He uses laughter to break down people's barriers about themselves and he promotes faith and family values in a lighthearted and humorous way. He has the reputation for revealing and instilling hope and motivating people.  The concert is completely free and is very family friendly.
