What type of church is First Christian?
We are a non-denominational church with people from all backgrounds (no church affiliation, Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, etc.). Whether you’ve been attending church for years or this is your first time, you’ll feel welcome at FCC.
What should I wear?
Whatever you want! We welcome jeans, t-shirts, ties, tuxedos…you get the idea. Come as you are.
What happens when I arrive?
As you approach FCC, the entrance is on the west side of the building, under the drive-thru and through the glass doors. For the classic service at 8:00 head up the big stairs and you’ll see our friendly greeters pointing the way to the worship service.
For the 10:00, contemporary service, our greeters can point the way to the worship service or to the Check-In station if you have kids that want to be a part of our Kidz Church. Help will be available to answer any questions that you may have at the Welcome Center. More greeters will hand you a program and, if needed, help you find a seat when you get to the auditorium. While you wait, feel free to enjoy the music, read about upcoming events up on the screens, and complete as much information as you feel comfortable sharing on the Connection Card in your program, which we’ll collect during the offering.
What is the service like?
First of all, you won’t be pointed out or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. You will have a meaningful, stress-free experience…and you’ll have a lot of fun.
Each service is about 60 - 75 minutes. The first minutes of the service are usually a time of music and worship led by our team. We’ll have the words to each song up on the screen, so you can sing as much as you feel comfortable!
After a short welcome, there is usually another song or two or we may jump right into the day’s teaching. Each message/sermon is 30-35 minutes long and takes eternal Biblical principles and applies them to your life in some very real and practical ways. There’s a place in the program where you can take notes so you can review what you learned later in the week.
What about my kids?
During the 10:00 contemporary service, your kids will discover that Kidz Church will be the BEST hour of their week! All children–from birth to 4th grade–are invited to join us in a fun, safe, clean, interactive environment where our team of trained volunteers creates an environment your child will want to come back to every week!
Your child's safety is our concern too. That's why when you arrive, whether for Sunday School at 9:00 or the contemporary service at 10:15, we'll want to register your kids at the Check-In station. The station is located at the end of the welcome center. The people at the Check-In stations can help you register your kids and will be glad to show you where the different classes are for each age level. When you register your child, you will receive a receipt sticker that you will use to pick up your child after the service.
